Finding Love, Hope and Healing at The Edge Church
Pastor Kim McCormick and her husband Jack had dreamed of planting a church where all people could come and find love, acceptance, hope, forgiveness, healing, and purpose in their lives. After moving to Fox Lake in 2009 and building relationships within the community, they discovered that teens wanted a safe and fun place to go and play their music – and families wanted a place to grow. Soon, they rented a storefront on Grand Avenue in the heart of Fox Lake, where they hosted the monthly teen event “Rock the Fox”, and a local clothes closet and food pantry called “Lighthouse of Hope.” All these activities eventually led to the formation of “The Edge Church.”
A year later on September 12, 2010, The Edge Church celebrated the grand opening of their new building at 25 Forest Avenue in Fox Lake, IL. “There have been over 500 hours of volunteer time in order to open this church. All the glory must go to God because of what has been accomplished is past man’s abilities,” said Pastor Kim.
The Edge Church offers many ministries and services to the community, including “Rock the Fox” which is held on the first Saturday of every month at Lakefront Park, Homeless ministries, Spiritual Gifts Training, Tuesday and Thursday Prayer nights, Fridays Morning Intercessory Prayer, adult Bible studies, Sunday school, and many others. They’ve also just recently started a free after-school program every Wednesday for children 6-8 years old. Sunday worship service begins at 10:01 am.
The Edge Church exists with these purposes: to help bring people into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ by sharing and introducing the Gospel; to develop them into mature believers who are led by the Holy Spirit; and to see lives transformed by the power of God through His Word and Holy Spirit, all for the purpose of glorifying God.
