The Fox Lake Street Department has been considering a means of reducing salt and sand applied on our roads during snow and ice events. Beginning December 1st, the Street Department has begun testing an anti-icing agent derived from beet juice. Although this liquid is brownish in color, it will not damage or stain automobiles or clothing.
Testing areas included are portions of East Grand Avenue, East Oak Street, Forest Avenue, and Sundial Lane. Signs are present on these streets.
